Our Team

Phillip Haynes holds a bachelor’s degree in Human Development from Howard University, a master’s degree in Administration, Planning, and Social Policy from Harvard University, and a doctorate degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Georgia. Phillip is the founding member and Executive Director of Crimson Foundation. In this capacity, Phillip provides direction and leadership on educational services for children. Phillip is a native of Los Angeles, California, but lived in Australia, Canada and Ireland before settling in Atlanta.

Mia Maginn is a student at Buckingham Browne and Nichols School in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She has a passion for human rights, community service, and learning about other cultures. She first learned about Crimson Academy in 2012 through fellow board member, Berhane Zerom. She first traveled to Rwanda in 2016 through the GIVE program and returned in 2017. She plans to continue her partnership with Crimson Academy and return again to Rwanda in 2018.
Berhane Zerom is a middle school mathematics teacher at Buckingham Browne & Nichols School located in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He received his bachelors degree from the University of Asmara and his masters degree from Harvard University.
Mary Dinh is a specialized consultant focusing on public sector interests. She has personal interest in ameliorating poverty and the education of children in third world countries. She received her bachelors degree from the University of Southern California and her masters degree from Harvard University. In her spare time, Mary is committed to organizing fund-raising events to raise proceeds in the interest of educating children touched by the Crimson Foundation.
Dr. Mann currently serves as Executive Director of the Frederick D. Patterson Research Institute at the United Negro College Fund (UNCF). As Executive Director, she is responsible for leading the Institutes’ efforts to conduct and disseminate research that informs policymakers and practitioners on how to improve educational opportunities and outcomes for African Americans and other underrepresented minorities across the P-16 pipeline. As a psychologist, Dr. Mann has worked, for nearly 20 years, across research, practice and policy settings exploring how comprehensive interventions can address the needs of at-risk children and, thus brings a natural developmental perspective to her work at UNCF.  Prior to joining UNCF, she was the Deputy Executive Director at ZERO TO THREE, a national nonprofit organization that focused on translating research to practice for policymakers and practitioners to benefit young children. She has extensive experience managing project implementation of large-scale, public and privately funded national initiatives. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from Spelman College in Atlanta, GA and completed her Masters and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Michigan State University. She is married at the mother of two wonderful children, Joshua and Lauryn Mann. Dr. Mann and her family currently reside in Fairfax, Virginia.
Margie received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Georgia Gwinnett College and her master’s degree in clinical counseling psychology from Brenau University. Additionally, Margie has provided counseling services to children, adolescents, adults, families, and couples. Margie is the founder and President of Project L.I.F.E. for Youth, Inc. and Alternative Life, Inc. Two nonprofit organizations that provide life-skill training and residential services, respectively, to underserved children. Margie is also an adjunct professor of psychology at Brenau University. She has completed research projects focusing on topics that range from self-identity, family structure, African American males, juvenile delinquency, and gang affiliation.

Waako RONALD was born on 8th, February 1995 in Magamaga town council, Mayuge District in Uganda. I started my journey of education in one of the nursery schools in Magamaga for only two years, but later, I joined one of the local government aided schools for seven years in Buyende District. In 2010 I joined o level at MT . ST . JOHN’S COLLEGE Kagoma in Jinja district where I sat for Uganda national examination board ( UNEB) in 2014. In February 2015, I earned an Uganda certificate of education in teaching profession from JINJA primary teachers college Wanyange under KYAMBOGO University from 2015 to 2016. I am currently a teacher at Crimson Academy in Rwanda. I do recognize any kind of learner ie: both introvert and extrovert apart from those who have different learning individual differences.
This is ouma John William a son of OUMA Fanuel and Taaka Teresa  residents of BUSIA District ( Uganda ). I started my primary school in Bunyadenti primary school and it’s where I completed my primary courses. I later joined Saint Paul Senior Secondary School in Wakiso District FROM 2010 TO 2015. In 2015 I joined JINJA primary teachers’ college and I completed the teaching course in 2016. I am looking the further studies when I succeed well with my exams. I am now a primary 5 teacher for Crimson Academy. My interest are chatting with friends and sharing ideas. I like watching and playing football as well.
My name is FRANCINE NIMBESHAHO   a female , I was born on 5th , October 1983 , I am a mother of two children , a boy Bright Umurage and a girl, Alena UMURAGE . I am trained in different courses including  lay counseling and peace building. My hobbies are church services, reading books, listening to country music. My passions are art and kids. I am a teacher of French from p1 up to p5 at CRIMSON ACADEMY SCHOOLL OF KAGINA.
I was born on 15th January 1997,  in Buikwe district found in central Uganda by Mr. Nkwakira Godfrey and Ms. Asaba Rebecca. I started my studies in 2004 in a nursery school, from there I Joined ST. Mary’s Malongwe p/s where I completed my Primary Level in 2010. I joined my secondary education in 2011 at Bukanga Seed Secondary school in Luuka District Eastern Uganda, there I had to complete my ordinary level in 2014. From there I joined Jinja Primary Teachers’ College under Kyambogo University in 2015. In 2016, I completed my primary education as a qualified grade three teacher. Currently I am a primary four teacher at Crimson Academy School of Kagina. I am a Ugandan aged 20 years of old, Christian by Religion and a Catholic by denomination.
My name is KASINE NAOMI and I am a class teacher for the nursery classroom at CRIMSON ACADEMY. I was born on 1st /1/ 1986 am single mother with one boy names Moses Manzi who is four years old.  I have a certificate in accounting from secondary school and a bachelors’ degree in Management. My hobbies include reading books, novel and newspapers. I also like to swim and socialize with friends.
My name is Jeannette MUSHIRARUNGU and I was born in 1995. I am single and I live in RANGO cell , MAREBA SECTOR , BUGESERA District , Northern province of RWANDA . I finished my secondary studies from Saint Therese Secondary School Kayonza in Accountancy faculty. I am currently a student in UNIVERSITY OF KIGALI in accounting department. I also am a assistant teacher in the nursery classroom.
My name is IMMACULATE UWITONZE , I was born in 1990 , am single , I live in Gihara cell , Runda sector , Kamonyi District , southern province   , I finished my   college in 2015 in teaching modern languages from TTC SAVE , I like playing basketball and football too . I am a grade 1  teacher at crimson academy of Kagina.
My name is Emmanuel USEGIMANA   , I was born in 1990 , am single , am Rwandese ,I live in southern province of RWANDA , Kamonyi District , Runda sector and Gihara cell .   I did my studies from teacher training college in faculty of teaching modern language   I Finished my studies in 2013.   My hobbies are riding bicycle. I am a teacher of Kinyarwanda   from p1 to p6 at CRIMSON ACADEMY.
I am IGNITIOUS KANKIRIHO, a Ugandan male aged 21 from currently Sheema district. I joined my primary education in 2000 year and completed in 2009 year  at Kagorogoro p/s. I joined secondly education in 2010 at Ryakasinga Centre For Higher Education, in 2013 year, I completed my ordinary level. In 2014, I joined Bushenyi primary Teachers’ College and completed in 2015 year as a qualified grade 3 teacher. Currently, am a teacher for Primary three at Crimson Academy School of Kagina in Rwanda.
I am Umugwaneza Jeanne D’arc, 29 years old, Rwandan by nationality, married with one daughter, resident of kamonyi District, Runda sector. I am a teacher by professional and teach local language (Kinyarwanda) in grade 1 to 6. I studied primary schools, O’ level and A level where I got a certificate in teaching primary schools, then attended university studies at University of Rwanda college of education, in faculty of education,department of foundation of education and now holder a bachelors degree in education administration and management, I have four years of experience, teaching different subjects in primary schools. And all in all, I like teaching and feel happy when I achieve my objectives and fulfill all my responsibilities as a teacher and a parent.
I am Busing Naome aged 30 years old, a female Uganda by nationality from Ntungamo District, I am a ninth child out of the ten children, married to one husband, with no child yet, but hoping to get one soon! I completed my primary level in 2000, then joined and completed my secondary, then joined Kiyoora Primary Teachers’ College Ntungamo, where I qualified as a teacher under Kyambogo University, and now have an experience of seven (7) years in the teaching service, am a grade one class teacher with 60 students, teaching four subjects: Mathematics, English, Science and Social Studies. I love my students and love teaching.
My name is Prosper Rukundo, single, male Rwandan of 25 years old, born of southern province, Kamonyi District, Runda sector, Muganza cell and Rubona village and now a residence Gihara in Runda sector. Did Education and specialised in teaching science and mathematics from a Teacher Training College of Rubengera and by now i am in University Of Kigali in accounting department Level two. About my family background, I am orphan who lost both parents and have no any sibling, and now living with my new family composed by one mum, two sisters and myself. I have been a teacher at crimson for 4 years, and am a class teacher of grade six, and specifically teach Maths P.6 and P.5 and S.S.T in P.6 and a head coach trainer of crimson soccer team, and on addition to that, am a coordinator of Crimson-Kamonyi soccer tournament
Joseph’s Bio I am Kalinaki Joseph single male Ugandan aged 26 and a teacher by professional with teaching experience of over six years. I attended my primary and secondary schools in Jinja and later joined Kyambogo University for education major of Grade III. Truly I love and enjoy teaching the young children because they are the tomorrow’s pillars, they need extra care and attention and this is through giving them quality education and that is my aim wherever I am in class. I started teaching at Crimson Academy in 2013 up to date. I have the experience of teaching both lower and upper primary classes. I have been a class teacher of grade 2 for 3years and a teacher of all subjects.   Per now I am the class teacher of grade five and also I teacher science in grade 6 and I conduct the religious affairs and discipline of students in the school. I am from Eastern part of Uganda in Jinja district Budondo sub-county in Kyomya central I was raised by my father who was a strong pillar and my step mother too. We are a family of 7 children and total of 9 members I have 3 brothers and 3 sister and I am the first born in the family and the rest are still students.   My future plans is to become the best teacher in imparting and changing the community through education and to help students discover their potentials and creativity and also going for further studies so as to maintain and update the new education system for all the students so as to have a strong God fearing young generation ready for the work and royal to others and their country.  
I am Tumukunde Agness aged 29 years old, a Ugandan by nationality from Rukungiri District, and now living in Shema District at my husband’s home place, I am a seventh child in the family of twelve. I am married with one baby girl, completed my college and qualified in primary education from Kitabi PTC and got a grade 3 certificate in Education by Kyambogo University in 2011. I have four years experience of teaching and now a grade four class teacher teaching Mathematics, English, Science and Social Studies, and my school is made up of sixty six students
My name is Muvunyi John Paul and I was born on 15th of February 1993. I  have been a teacher/school secretary at Crimson Academy Kagina since 2014. I was born and raised  in Jinja-Uganda. I am the elder brother in the family of 5. I have two brothers (Bob & Brian) and two sisters (Doreen & Agness) to Late Sserwadda Muvunyi Emmanuel and Loving Mom Mbabazi Evanith. I completed university studies inUganda right from my nursery till college (Jinja PTC Wanyange of Kyambogo University) and currently a student of DEPE at Kyambogo University Uganda. Am Born again, who loves serving and work with some organisations, and youths church ministries that help inspire and change fellow youths to loving and knowing God more and more. My major aim in life is changing people’ lives positively, leaving a good mark among the people and places I live and work with, love teaching and ministering with the whole of my life and my roll model in life is Jesus Christ. I want to die empty. 
Jean De Dieu Nsabimana is the Headmaster at Crimson Academy Rwanda with responsibility to ensure the good governance and the vision of the school include to assist in capacity building program, projects implementation and management of the daily activities of the school. He is also serves as the Vice Principal in charge of Discipline at Marie Adelaide Secondary school (a college) where he is in charge of all activities relating to the management of pupils including registration, admission, learning and behavior management. Prior to join Crimson foundation Jean De Dieu worked at Esperance Education Institute as Director and as teacher at several primary and Secondary schools include E.S.Kacyiru and E.S.M .ADELAIDE. Jean De Dieu Nsabimana is the holder of a bachelor degree in sciences with education from Kigali college of Education. He has 7 years of experience in education filed, including management skills training, education leadership, assessment and school management among others. Jean De Dieu is a hard worker who takes his commitment to an organization seriously and cares deeply about in a position in which he can help other people reach their potential.

I am Komuhimbo Moreen, a female Ugandan, was born on 19th /12/1996 and now aged 21. Am a Christian who was born in Kabarole District to Mr Masumbuku Alex and Mrs Karwenzori Grace, I am now married to one good husband. I love eating matooke(banana) but dislike posho. I completed my secondary level education from Bugoye P/S, my secondary; both ordinary and advanced level from Rwenzori High School. I am blessed to be part of Crimson Academy Kasese.
I am Jetrance Kabugho, a female Ugandan aged 23, was born on 13th of January, 1994. A protestant Christian by religion, a resident of Kasese and still single. I finished my primary school education from Railway Primary School, then Bright Academy Secondary School for my secondary school, then graduated as a teacher at Rwenzori Royal Institute. I love interacting with children, singing, dancing, playing football and netball. And I blessed to be part of Crimson Academy Kasese.
I am Mbambu Maria, a female Uganda, I am a cook, and I am happy to be working at Crimson Academy Kasese.
I am Muhindo Faith, a Ugandan female, aged 43, born on 16th /04/1974, was married until I became a widow after loosing my beloved husband, and by God’s grace am a cleaner at Crimson Academy Kasese – Uganda.
I am Agabas Masereka, a male Ugandan who was born on 23rd of April, 1990 in Kasese. Had my pre-primary education from Nyakasanga, then my primary education from Railway Primary School for seven years, and my ordinary level secondary education at Old Kampala Secondary School, my advanced level secondary education from Kinbanzanga High School Kasese, and graduated as a teacher with Kisoro Primary Teahcers’ College, under Kyambogo University in 2010. I am blessed to be working with Crimson Acadmey Kasese to help change the future of many children in Kasese and Uganda at large into better.
I am Muhindo Zainab, a female Ugandan aged 24, was born on 31st of December, 1992. I love children and spending time with them, watching and reading stories. I completed my primary education from Muyeni Primary School, my secondary education from Uganda Martyrs College Kyondo and graduated as a teacher from Rwenzori Royal Institute. I am blessed to be part of Crimson Academy Kasese.
I am Masereka Swale, a male Ugandan aged 23, was born on 12th of December, 1993.Graduated as a teacher from Kisoro Primary Teachers’ College in the year 2012, I got a certificate in journalism and mass communication with Liberty College of Management, I completed my secondary level education from Mbarara College School in 2010 and my primary education level from Kitswambi Muslim Primary School. I like reading news papers, watching news, reading news stories, radio presentation, entertainment, sports and teaching. I am blessed to be part of Crimson Academy Kasese.
I am Muhindo Sylvia, a female Ugandan aged 22, was born on 6th of July, 1994. Still single and resident of Kasese. Completed my primary level education from Ibanda Primary School, and my secondary school level from Rwenzori High School, then joined Celak Vocational College for my nursery teaching qualification, I love reading the bible, novels and singing. I feel blessed to be part of Crimson Academy Kasese.
I am Muhindo Boaz, a male Ugandan born on 6th of December, 1991. I am a Christian and still single. Born to Mr Bwambale Sabiiti Sezi and Biira Dipora. I completed my primary level education from Kitsutsu Primary School, my secondary ordinary level from Bwera SS and my secondary advanced level at Sentah College Mbarara, and later joined Bugema University for my certificate in administration law, in planning, saving and management, and a digree in accounting (BBA). I am blessed to be part of Crimson Academy Kasese.
I am Kambale Julius and many people call me “God is good” because its my greeting to everyone, I am a male Ugandan, aged 31 now, was born on 25th of September, 1986. I am a security officer, a gateman at Crimson Academy Kasese.
I am Bitswatswa Dorick, a female Ugandan aged 22, was born on 14th/04/1995. I am still single and resident of Kasese. I completed my primary level education from Kyondo Primary School, my secondary from Celak Vocation Secondary School, and graduated as a teacher from Rwenzori Royal Institute. I love God and I love children. I am blessed of being part of Crimson Academy Kasese.
I am Muhindo Scovia, a female Ugandan aged 24, was born on 04th of October, 1993. I am a mukonzo by tribe and still single. I love interacting with children, reading novels, news letters and playing netball. I finished my primary level education from Nyakahya Primary School, my secondary level from Hill Side Secondary School, and graduated as a nursery teacher from Kasese Nursery Teachers’ College under YMCA. I feel proud of being part of Crimson Academy Kasese.
I am Masereka Julius a male Ugandan aged 23, was born on 06th /05/1994 single and teacher by profession. I finished my primary level education in 2010 from Kanyabusogha Primary School and my secondary level education in 2014 and graduated as a nursery teacher in 2016 with Kasese Nursery Teachers’ Institute. I love preaching the gospel and singing in church. I am blessed to be part of the change Crimson Academy Kasese is bringing to the people of Kasese and Uganda in general.
I am Katusabe Annah, a female Ugandan born on 10th /10/1986. I studied my primary level but unfortunately dropped out of school after my semi-candidate class due to financial instability of my family then. I am a cook at Crimson Academy Kasese by God’ grace.
I am Mbusa Tadeo, a male Ugandan born on 19th /02/1984. Finished my primary school education in 1994 at Nsenyi Primary School, my secondary school in 1999 and graduated as a grade 3 teacher in 2004 with Bundibugyo PTC and currently upgrading for a diploma in education at Mountain Of The Moon University which I started this year till 2019. I love teaching, am a residence of Kasese, love athletics, football, volleyball and can teach all subjects. I am blessed to be part of Crimson Academy Kasese.
I am Thembo Jovinal, a male Ugandan born on 05th /07/1994. Still single and teacher by profession. I completed my primary level in 2010 from Kyanya Primary School, my secondary level in 2014 at Merryland Model School and then graduated as a grade 3 teacher at Bundibugyo Primary Teachers’ College in 2016. My career objectives are to help growing Ugandans to be acceptable in the society, professionally to provide quality service to the learners and attain the desired knowledge, skills and attitudes that will help them to be good people in future.
I am Kisembo Joseph, a male Uganda aged 39, was born on 01st of January, 1997. Catholic, resident of Kasese and married. I love sports and reading novels and news posts. I graduated my secondary ordinary level from ST. Mary’s Seminary Fort Portal, my secondary advanced level from Kilembe Senior Secondary School Kasese, did my digree in education level with Makerere University, and my post graduate diploma level in education with Kampala International University Kampala. I am blessed to be part of Crimson Academy Kasese.
I am Kule Johnson, a male Uganda, resident of Kasese, born on 27th of April, 1990. Started my primary education from 1995 to 2006 at Kilembe P/S, then my secondary ordinary and advance education at Kilembe Senior Secondary School, and then graduated as a professional teacher with Bundibugho Teachers’ College in 2014. I am now a teacher at Crimson Academy Kasese, Its of a great blessing, and ready to work hard hand in hand with the children, parents, fellow teachers, administration and Crimson Foundation.
I am Baluku Abraham, a male Ugandan born on 25th /05/1994. Was born in Kasese to Mr. Bwambale Jockim and Mrs Masika Elizabeth. Did my primary from ST. Augustine Kitibu, my secondary from Trinity Vocation Secondary School and graduated as a teacher with Kisoro PTC. I love sports and teaching and most of all am blessed to be part of Crimson Academy Kasese.
I am Biira Joyce Kiripi, Ugandan female aged 33 years, from Kasese District, married with 3 children and expecting one soon! Started my primary education in 1993 and completed in 1999 at Kamaiba P/S, joined secondary education in 2000 at Kasese Secondary School, completed my ordinary level in 2003, then later joined Kasese Community Nursery Teachers’ College under YMCA and graduated in 2005 as a nursery teacher. I am a teacher by profession and most precious of all the head teacher of Crimson Academy Kasese – Uganda. And I am ready to stand together, work harder and hand in hand with the children, parents, teachers, fellow administration, other Crimson Academy schools and Crimson Foundation at large.
